Ive been wanting to update this forever now but I always feel lazy when I about to do it. Theres nothing really that went on this past week… I went to the fair last Sunday. It was really fun. Allen had free tickets so he took me and his friend Lorena. I fed some goats, had the best chocolate milk ever, and got some cool bracelets. One of them already broke but its a good thing I bought two! I got my first test back on Monday and I did better than expected. Not that good but good enough. That sucks that my professor doesn’t allow partial credit or I would have gotten a higher grade.

I got the new Coheed CD. It is ok. It sounds exactly like the last one they put out. Nothing has really changed, to me that is. The only track I like is the first one where its just strings and piano instrumental. Its really cool.

I didnt go to class on Wednesday because I was really lazy. Never take a 7am class unless you are used to waking up early.

Lately, Ive been watching Band of Brothers again and its cool to see the comradery that goes on during war. You get stuck with a group of men from day one and you never know if you are or the guys next to you are going to make it home alive or even how long you are going to be away from home for. It sucks how we live in a society where push comes to shove. We cant talk anything over. We need to blast the other guy out of the sky and then everything is resolved until the next conflict.

Another thing Ive been reading about is the battle of Mogadishu and the whole thing the movie Black Hawk Down is about. Its crazy to think that we can just intervine in some other countries problems. Do we think we are that superior to everyone else? There is a scene in the movie where they just captured Mike Durant and one Somali soldier said something that makes a lot sense, "You have the power to kill but not the power to negotiate." We send soldiers to the front line but dont do anything to protect them. Protecting them means not sending them off to war. Even better yet, another country's civil war.

We have the power to invade other countries but not the power to save our own. We can send thousands of troops to another country for years at a time but we cant send rescue workers to help our own people that have lost everything to a hurricane immediately. And where is our vice president during all of this? I havent seen or heard of him since the election was over and that was a long time ago. Where the fuck is that faggot? Come on now. Even Bush is AT LEAST making an effort to visit Louisiana, Mississippi, etc.

And I was talking to a friend at work and saying how we, southern Californians, would be totally screwed if a hurricane or something like it would sweep through the southland. It was raining two days ago and there are idiots out in the road that are still driving 50 mph in the heavy rain swerving in and out of traffic. And suddenly, every channel on TV is on "storm watch 2005" and reporters are everywhere talking about how one family got a half an inch of rain or this school canceled recess because it was raining. I think everyone in California think they are cooler than everyone else because have the oc, laguna beach, the governator, and fried snickers. We don’t live the lives of the people we see on tv. I dont need another reason to stay here.
