Thursday, October 27, 2005- Wiltern, Los Angeles

The show on Thursday was insane. Aside from all the newbies it was a great show. I left my house at about 430 and I didnt get to the wiltern until 530 because I got lost. I went in and got my merch first which was a mistake because to get on the floor in front of the stage, you need a wristband and I couldnt get one so I had to stand in the section right above and it had the gayest crowd ever.

The first band up was panic! At the disco and they only played 5 songs. They had a good playing stuff from their new cd. When I first listened to them, I seriously thought they had a keyboard player or something but I did not see one at the show. I think they had some pre-recorded tracks. They were a good opening band.

Up next was boys night out. Ive seen them twice before and thought they were ehh but tonight they were actually alright. They added a girl that played the keyboard. I didnt think anyone would know any of their songs but a handful of people did which surprised me.

After them was motion city soundtrack. They were awesome. A lot of people knew their songs, new and old. And mark hoppus even came out to sing part of a song with mcs as well. They really got the crowd moving during their last two songs, the future freaks me out and my favorite accident. Before that, no one was moving at all just singing along. I was standing in the second level and their were a lot of couples so they didnt like to be pushed so every time the crowd swayed, the boyfriends would push back which just went back and forth for a while…

Anyways, the starting line was up after MCS and they started off with surprise, surprise, which was really good. They played a couple of new songs from BOATS but I didnt know some of them. The only songs I really knew were Ready, a goodnights sleep, autography, and leaving. At the end of their last song, leaving, Kenny sang the chorus of Sugar were going down to get everyone ready for FOB.

After TSL played, the roadies took apart the stage. Apparently, the opening bands have been playing on the front half of the stage because a curtain blocked the front and the back of the stage. So the curtain came up and they had some props in the background. And they were going to play two sets and the first one was called act 1. I can’t remember all the songs they played but ill get a list for you at the bottom. So after the first set, they took a break and went backstage to change clothes. Came out, rocked out again, and ended it with Saturday.

I stayed after for about 20 minutes to see if I can get anything but no luck. I did find 20 bucks on the ground though. I asked this girl that was right by it but she said it wasnt hers and told me keep it. Went back out to merch area and saw mike from tsl talking to people. And I also saw the old bass player from yellowcard, Alex, out there too. There were people around him and I couldnt believe that people remembered who he is. Guards were telling people to leave so I walk out to the back of the venue where people were waiting for the band to come out. I waited for about 20 minutes and didn’t see anything happening so I left. As I was walking to my car, I saw Kenny from the starting line and said what up to him. We just talked for about a couple minutes and he looked really tired so he had to go. I went into Ralph’s for a soda and left.

Monday, October 31, 2005 – Brens Center, Irvine

I just wanted to say I hate the Brens Center. The venue is not made for shows. Its a stupid gym that some douche bag thought that he could make more money if he hosted shows there. I am never going to another show there ever again

We arrive at the venue at about 6 and had to wait in a long ass line that stretched around the campus of UCI. We got in and caught the last two songs of Panic. After they played, a billion kids thought it would be cool if they rushed the stage the crowd was swaying the whole time Panic was breaking down their equipment and Boysnightout was setting up.

Boysnightout came on and I thought they werent that good because the sound sucked at the venue. They were way better on Thursday. A lot of kids left the crowd because they thought they sucked. That’s sad.

Motion city came out and Justin was dressed as Michael Jackson and talked like him the whole night. They were, in my opinion, the best band on both nights of the Nintendo fusion tour that I have attended. They awesome dynamic and played every song perfectly. Their set was flawless.

The starting line was up next, they came dressed up as Slipknot, and I had to get out half way through because I couldnt enjoy the show just sway and falling on my back every couple minutes. Some idiots thought it was cool to just spend the entire time pushing people down so they could get closer to the stage.

I stood way in the back for fall out boy this time because I just wanted to enjoy the show and sing along in the back for once. Right before they came on, they had this whole scene with star wars where storm troopers came out, with Darth Vader and Jedis and everything. That was cool. I didnt think they were that good tonight because Patricks voice was really out tune and Pete just kept screaming. During the intermission, they threw out about thirty shirts and other stuff. Havent seen that crap happen before. They also played an extra song. We left right after they played dance, dance to beat the traffic.
